Reports in Tuesday's Sydney Morning Herald state that Australian Federal Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard have both rejected various claims that the new headquarters of Australia's spy agency ASIO have been compromised by Chinese hackers.

On Monday the Australian ABC's Four Corners program claimed that classified blueprints of the new Australian spy headquarters ASIO in Canberra were stolen in a cyber hit orchestrated from a Chinese server.

The Australian news agency pushed for information on the alleged attack and asked the government to give details of the security breaches.

The Australian government responded by rejecting claims that it had been hit by Chinese hackers.

Chinese hackers were also in the headlines over the past few days as reports circulated that Chinese hackers had gained access to major U.S. weapons systems. In the U.S. attack the report of the security compromise was prepared by U.S. officials.
