The rumors and leaks were true, as this morning, HTC officially announced the HTC One mini - the smaller version of the amazing HTC One, which released earlier this year.
The new mini comes with a 4.3-inch, 1280 x 720 S-LCD3 screen, with the look and feel of its larger brother. There are a few differences of course, aside from its smaller form factor, including a thinner build, and though the back is still made of aluminum, the front edges and sides are now polycarbonate.
The HTC BoomSound speakers are still there thankfully, albeit a tad smaller, and the mini still includes HTC Blinkfeed, Zoe, and runs HTC Sense 5.0.
Under the hood, the mini uses a 1.4GHz dual-core processor and has 1GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of internal memory. Running on Android 4.2.2, the 4MP UltraPixel rear camera is still there, with BSI, f/2.0, 1/3-inch sensor, but no image stabilization. The front-facing camera is 1.6MP and uses BSI as well.
The HTC One mini has a 1600mAh battery, does not support NFC (near-field communication), but does support Bluetooth 4.0, LTE and the camera can still record full 1080p HD video.
According to HTC, the HTC One mini will be available sometime in August in select markets, before a full global rollout in September. No pricing information was given for today's announcement.
