Nokia is stepping up its game once again, as the company has announced a new Windows Phone - the Lumia 1020, which carries with it, a whopping 41-megapixel camera.
The phone, which will retail for $299 with a 2-year contract with AT&T, is clearly aimed at the photo enthusiast, as the phone, which will come in yellow, black and white, will feature a Xenon Flash, Carl Zeiss lense, OIS, BSI and a zoom that will not lower the quality of the photos taken.
Users will be able to zoom in and cut/edit, from within the camera, with the 41-megapixel images being saved on the device, as well as through AT&T Locker - the free app that lets users store media on the cloud.
For images that will be shared, the camera will also simultaneously take the same photos at 5-megapixels, which can be then shared on social networks as well as on Microsoft's SkyDrive (cloud storage).
You'll get a full array of manual settings as well, for those who know what they're doing, while Nokia is also producing an optional camera grip, that also adds external battery, as well as a tripod.
The Lumia 1020 has a 4.5-inch HD+ screen (1280 x 768), with 32GB of internal memory. The front-facing camera takes 2-megapixel shots, while the processor comes in as a dual-core 1.5GHz, with 2GB of internal RAM. The phone uses a 2000 mAh battery.
AT&T will begin carrying the Lumia 1020 on July 26.
