Nothing helps your appetite or appearance more than having a full set of teeth.
But the upkeep! What with the toil of brushing and flossing, we're talking five or even ten minutes a day of back breaking labor.
So what cruelty inspires me to review a gadget to use in addition to brushing and flossing?
Hosing down your teeth gets rid of lots of germs. Brushing and flossing break up plaque, nut then it just leaves the broken up plaque sitting there. You rinse, of course, but your mouth has too many nooks and crannies for rinsing to be enough.
Think of yourself hosing down a walkway. It takes a lot of water to get ride of all the dirt. Same thing with germs. If you've ever used an oral irrigator at the sink, you'll have seen the bits of dirt it washes out.
What is the Shower Breeze?
It is a simple hose and nozzle that you attach to your shower head so you can irrigate your teeth while you take a shower.
It saves a ton of hassle.
Advantages over traditional oral irrigators like the WaterPik
You don't have to fill with water. You don't have to clean it. You don't have to plug it in. You can use lots of water and irrigate your teeth for as long as you want. It is more gentle. It uses a great deal more water at a lower pressure. At around $29 on Amazon, it is much cheaper.
Helpful hints
Aim the stream behind your bottom back left molar and the water will swirl and gently clean your left tonsil. (It works on the right side, too.) Do not directly aim the stream at your tonsil. You might rupture it. You can use the Shower Breeze to rinse or clean your shower Do not stop flossing. Flossing goes under the gums to disrupt the bacterial colonies that are constantly plotting to make you toothless. Nothing is more important than flossing.
My Experience
I've had the Shower Breeze for nearly two years, and as you can see, it has held up and still looks new. I do find the pressure a little lower than I am used to, but I need to remember that the Shower Breeze is not meant to blast plaque off the teeth. It's meant to rinse germs away from the areas between the teeth and gums and it does that very well.
