A new color has been added to the iPhone 5s rumor spectrum. According to CNet on Aug. 26, if you're a fan of the modern graphite, Apple had you in mind, as a new leaked photo shows.

However, 9to5Mac is skeptical. Noting how well-cited the rumors were for the champagne, or gold-colored iPhone, it doesn’t seem likely that a fourth color option would have gone unreported for so long. The writer even offers up a photo of a white iPhone in just the right light that makes it appear almost the same as the photos of the graphite phone.

But there are key differences between the light-altered phone and the leaked photo that don’t appear to be shopped. According to MacRumors , a repair shop has also posted a photo of parts that match all the colors present in the photo leaked by Apple-tracker Sonny Dickson. The shop was also claiming that Apple was only going to release the iPhone 5s in the two new colors, gold and graphite, but that claim has been pretty much dismissed.

Though iPhones are usually covered with protective cases, Apple may be trying to lock in those who already own iPhones but want to have the cosmetic changes they’ve never had before. In the U.S., iPhones account for 51.2 percent of all smartphones owned, so Apple will have to continue to provide never-before-seen features to keep that number high.

It won’t be long before we’re able to see for ourselves which rumors are fact or fiction. The announcement is just about two weeks away on Sept. 10.
