Despite not actually being the tech genius he portrays in the movie 'Jobs,' Ashton Kutcher just secured a position for himself at Lenovo, according t o E! Online on Oct. 30 . This position isn't spokesman, or celebrity presence, he's been hired to develop and market a new line of Lenovo tablets. The 35-year-old actor is now a product engineer.
How does this kind of thing happen? Well, Kutcher's got quite the background in tech. He co-founded A-Grade Investments which has worked with Spotify, Path, FourSquare, Uber and Airbnb. Of the new line of his resume, Kutcher said, "This partnership with Lenovo brings together my love of technology and design that makes your life better….Lenovo is all about innovation and strong leadership. Entrepreneurship is part of their DNA, and I couldn't ask for a better fit."
Time notes that before dropping out of college, Kutcher did study biochemical engineering, so he must have a mind built for the engineering world, but we'll see what he's really able to contribute to the tech scene.
For their part, at least Lenovo has people talking about them. If they get publicity and labor out of the deal, it seem like they really may have come out the winner in this partnership.
