In a market that has many, many different options at your disposal, choosing the right tablet can become a very convoluted matter. There are some tablets you should stay away from and others you should become more familiar with. Allow us to introduce the device you should get to know immediately, the HTC Nexus 9 .

The Nexus 9 has a 8.9 inch LCD display that sports a 4:3 aspect ratio. It also has a QXGA graphics display of 1536x2048 and it is stunning. The display has a nifty double-tap feature that wakes the device when sleeping. The Nexus 9 has a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, 4.1 Bluetooth, 16GB of total storage and a strong 2GB of RAM. Weighing just under 1 pound at 0.96 lbs, the Nexus 9 is a tablet you can carry anywhere and never have storage issues. On a full charge, the Nexus 9 lasts for close to 12 hours long. The Nexus 9 is a small, powerful beast and does some things much better than the competition.

Let's talk about the Nexus 9's camera first. It is made up of a 8MP, auto-focus, 1080p camera for optimal photography. While the main camera allows for 1080p photography, the front camera allows for 720p photography. Equipped with the ability to take both a picture and a video, there are a number of things the tablet can do. Lens Blurring allows you to take complete images of things you wouldn't normally be able to photograph in a standard picture. Right next to that is the Panorama, which is incredible. Panorama on the Nexus 9 is unbelievable with how easy it is to use and how perfect the photos are.

By moving the tablet from one circle to the next, you are able to capture the Panoramic shot you want. Once the photo has been taken, it takes a few seconds to process and then it's done. When it is finished, the result is an gorgeous, crisp and clear picture. Apple's Panorama could learn something major from the Nexus 9's. HTC's device never had any cut off parts of an image, incomplete visuals or anything that would technically make a photo something worth deleting.

The Photo Sphere function is just as incredible as the Panorama mode, though the former will require a bit more practice before you consistently take clear pictures with it. That said, Photo Sphere mode is very practical and anyone can pick it up and start using it. Both modes put Apple's to shame and for the sake of its users, hopefully they can learn from the Nexus 9.

When using the device's browser, Google Chrome works phenomenally well. Consumers will be thrilled with this browser as it is very user-friendly, even on tablet, and doesn't require too much previous knowledge to use it effectively. There are some nice bells and whistles to the browser such as when you close a window, you have the opportunity to undo it in case you didn't mean to close it. The display of most web pages look fantastic and makes reading, scrolling and surfing very simple tasks.

In addition to Google Chrome being the default web browser, people will also be pleasantly surprised with how effective and easy it is to use the device's voice commands for searching. When I spoke, I was able to quickly find what I was looking for. The device did a brilliant job of picking up the things I said and rarely missed a word. As you can expect with any tablet, using the voice function in the Nexus 9 will become more difficult with the increase of outside noise. However, this device certainly did a nice job of holding its own even in the loudest of environments.

Nowadays, most of us have email accounts with Google and so the Nexus 9 seamlessly fits with all of Google's apps. Most of these are apps you probably use already like Gmail, Google Docs, etc. Even if you don't have an account with Google, you can still use other email accounts like Outlook and Yahoo, giving the device a bit more flexibility.

Google Maps is a function everyone will use quite often. Navigating and understanding Google Maps is a very simple task. Not only is the app easy to understand, but it's very user-friendly. I had a friend who isn't as tech-savvy take a stab at using Google Maps and they were able to find the location and route they wanted within seconds. This is a testament to how user-friendly the device is, regardless of your technical prowess.

If you want to move from your email back into your browser, you can do so easily with the touch of the square icon, located toward the bottom of the screen on the right. Touching this icon will provide you with a view of all the apps currently in use. Those can be closed by simply clicking on the "X" icon located at the top right of each window or by swiping right, which is quicker.

When it comes to Nexus 9's ability to multitask, something that everyone who purchases one of these devices will end up doing, it performed magnificently. At one point, there were over 25 different applications opened at once and getting from one app to the next was still extremely quick and easy to do. Functions on the various apps I navigated through worked well and showed no difference, whether I had one application open or 20.

Multitasking is something a tablet must do well. There are some devices on the market right now that struggle with multitasking, and when that happens, it can cause a lot of frustration. Your tablet should be a simple, practical and effective device, and the device should make you want to use it more, not stay away from it. The Nexus 9 succeeds at the former and was something I had a hard time walking away from.

Overall, the Nexus 9 is a star. It is everything I'd hoped a tablet would be. The camera could use some work from a light bloom standpoint, but it makes up with its excellent Panorama mode. The Nexus 9 is an exceptional multitasking device for both work and personal use. It's an easy-to-use, easy-to-navigate device and is one we'd highly recommend this holiday season.
