Just as the advent of the four seasons come and go like clockwork, so do the rumors and obligatory “leaked” photos for new iPhone models appear year after year. And according to a report released by the website iDigitalTimes.com yesterday, new images purport to show the case of an iPhone 6c.
Is the photo real or Photoshopped? Your guess is as good as ours, but what the photo does hint at is a device that is almost indistinguishable from the iPhone 5c with the exception of a few added features.
Extra Holes
The iPhone 6c case photo shows an additional set of speaker holes located at the bottom, and to the right of the case; the iPhone 5c only has a speaker grid at the bottom left of its case.
So what?
These holes may be a hint of new stereo capacities or the inclusion of Beats music tech on the new device. Apple purchased Beats Electronics and Beats Music for a cool $3 billion last year in March.
Many wondered if Apple execs were in their right minds when they made the decision, but industry watchers speculate that the buy was to not only upgrade Apple’s image as a progressive company, but the addition of Beats would help it compete with music subscription services such as Spotify and Pandora.
Or the simplest guess is that the extra holes are merely for more ventilation for a more powerful chipset.
A New Flash
A very subtle difference between the iPhone 5c LED flash and the iPhone 6c flash may be linked to how they look like. The 5c has a round LED flash, while the 6c has a rectangular flash shape.
So what?
The new shape may be an indication of including Apple’s True Tone Flash tech into the 6c. This would mean a dual-function LED, which could adjust the flash’s color to accommodate for outside shooting or indoor shooting.
If you’ve ever seen really reddish photos when shooting inside or really bluish tints to your camera photos ouside, this dual flash should really help.
