Apple has added another new iPad to its line, this time instead of going small (like the iPad mini) they went large. The new iPad features a 128GB storage, doubling the amount of storage of the 64GB iPad.
Everything else remains the same on this device. The same powerful dual-core A6 processor and the same 2GB of memory. The screen is the same size, and you should get the same battery life out of the device.
The general population doesn’t tend to need 128GB of storage, especially with Apples iCloud centric focus on both the iPhone and iPad. This device is for hard core users along with some working professionals such as Doctors and Architects who can use the small form factor but need the extra storage.
This may be in response to the Microsoft Surface Pro, which comes in 64GB and 128GB versions, or maybe it’s in response to the SD expansion most Android tablets have built in. Either way, expect to pay a premium for the storage. The device starts at $799 for the Wi-Fi version and the LTE model will cost $929.
If you are interested in picking one up they should be available starting February 5th.
