According to reports on Jan. 27, 2013, The Rock managed to get hold of the title after a taxing main match to receive his eighth WWE title after a 10 years gap.
The Rock emerged as the champion after beating CM Punk at the 2013 Royal Rumble, thereby bringing an end to the more than 400 days reign of Punk as the WWE reigning champion. Watch video.

Antonio Cesaro defeated The Miz to retain his U.S. Title in the opening pre-show match.
The most anticipated Royal Rumble pay-per-view match between Alberto Del Rio and the Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championships title was almost close to insane with Big Show banging Del Rio off the stage.
However, Del Rio fought back and won the match to retain his title.
In the Tag Team title match, Daniel Bryan and Kane retained their titles.
And in the Royal Rumble John Cena emerged winner by eliminating Ryback. At the main fight between CM Punk and The Rock, the latter successfully got back the title after lot of action.
