Channel 24 reported on Feb. 27, 2013, that Ben Affleck who won an Oscar for Best Film for his directorial movie "Argo" has shaved off his beard after the win.
The 40-year-old actor-and-director had considered the facial hair as his lucky charm during the awards season and hence refrained from shaving all through. He shaved only after the movie won the Best Picture award at the Oscars on Sunday.
The star appeared clean shaven during a low-key Oscars after-party where he told E! News that he did it to mark the end of a chapter and it was hated in his home.
His friend actor-producer George Clooney was among the witnesses and some other guests joined Ben in helping him cut down his beard.
Ben's wife actress Jennifer Garner and their children were not impressed with the bushy beard that he kept for his role in the movie.
"Argo" took home the Best Picture award at the Oscars and the Best Director along with the Best Film at the BAFTAs and Golden Globe Awards.
