The abandoned vehicle that had caught on fire led some to think Dorner had fled on foot, while reports of Dorner possibly being in Mexico caused some visitors to think the murder suspect had fled the Big Bear area. They are some of the same folks who are now cooperating as law enforcement searches their vehicles.
The San Bernardino sheriff's office stated that today at about 12:22 p.m. PT a report of a vehicle at Club View Drive that was stolen by an individual appearing to be Chris Dorner.
Two officers were injured in the exchange of gunfire with Dorner at the cabins near Glass Road. The state of the officers is unknown at this time.
Commander Andrew Smith of the Los Angeles Police said they have 1,045 clues that officers are working on, and are continuing to work on their clues while the events in the San Bernardino area are taking place.
"If he is watching this, our message is enough is enough," Smith told Dorner. "It's time to turn yourself in."
The likelihood is that is in fact Dorner who is holed up in the cabin, said Smith.
Smith has asked to media to not display the aerial coverage of the SWAT officers from overhead in case Dorner is watching live TV coverage -- and they do not want to tip their tactical advantage.
Fallsvale Elementary is on lockdown during this time.
