Taiwan-based smartphone manufacturer, HTC, has been struggling to keep its business afloat amidst heavy competition from its rivals and its dwindling market share, but it unveiled the HTC One smartphone on Tuesday with the hope that its new phone will lead the company back to profitability.

All aluminum body and more

The HTC One has a few surprises in store for smartphone fans; it will sport an all aluminum body and will have a HD display density of 468-pixels, which means it will have the sharpest resolution of any phone currently on the market.

The HTC One will also feature HTC BoomSound or dual front-facing speakers. Jonah Becker, Director of HTC Design said at the smartphone’s launch event:

“Sound is way better when it hits you head on.”

Better camera technology

For shutter bugs, the HTC One will have an UltraPixels Camera that will give better quality photos when shooting in low-light situations. In addition, its HTCZoe feature gives the photographer the ability to take a quick series of images that are assembled into three-second motion clips.

Other specs

The HTC One is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and will come configured in either 32 or 64-gigabytes of on board storage. The phone will be available from AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint sometime in late March. Pricing for the phone has not been announce as of yet.
