Two North Carolina UFO reports about an hour apart from each other on February 24, 2013, seem to describe the same objects, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network ( MUFON ) witness reporting database.

At 6:50 p.m. on February 24, 2013, in Rockingham, NC, the first witness was driving along Richmond Road when two objects were seen in Case 45877 .

"I could see some light just over the trees and as I watched them they seemed to be moving very slow - much slower than C130 transport planes that we often see in the area," the witness stated. "It was almost like it was gliding or hoovering. As the area opened up some and there was less trees I could clearly see that there were two of the objects - one behind the other."

The witness pulled over to better observe the objects and get a photograph, and noticed that there was no sound coming from the objects.

"The objects then banked to their right and I could not get a picture of them. I started my truck up and tried to follow them to try and get a better spot to view them. As I crossed the stoplight which is less than 500 yards from where I pulled in to park I noticed that they had picked up speed and were moving faster. By the time I got another 1-2 miles down the road they were far enough away from me that I could not follow them."

The last thing the witness saw was what appeared to be an airplane moving toward the objects. Upon arriving home, a jet moved low over the witnesses' home.

"Two big airplanes (C130 I guess) came flying over just above tree top level going in the same direction that the two objects were going. They were low enough to vibrate the house. I went outside and noticed a lot of planes in the sky (small blinking lights)."

Then at 7:45 p.m. on February 24, 2013, in Graham, NC, about 100 miles northeast of Rockingham, another witness reported watching two objects with pulsing red lights and an "occasional white light" that could not be identified in Case 45891 .

"The objects moved slowly at the same altitude and speed," the witness stated. "One followed the other. Distance between was probably 100 feet (approximate), far too close for most airplanes. They were as big as passenger airliners which we can hear when they go over our house. These were perfectly silent and moving slowly. The distance between the two vehicles never varied nor did their altitude. It was like what you would see if one car were pulling another with a rigid tether between them."

Watching the objects then with binoculars, the witness says lights could be seen at each of three points on each object that formed a triangle shape.

"I would say that we observed them travel from south to north with only one slight veering to the west and then back to a direct south-north direction for a distance of 12 miles. We have open vistas. There were other aircraft in the area as usual on normal flight patterns. Most are west to east or east to west. These craft just flew beyond our area of vision."

This second witness was aware of the first witness report at the time this sighting was filed.

North Carolina is a current UFO ALERT 4 rating, with a higher than average number of UFO sightings nationally. North Carolina had 13 reports in January 2013 - the 12th highest reporting state while California had 75 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.
