North Korea has used a U.N disarmament meeting to warn South Korea of fore coming "final destruction." ABC News reported on Tuesday, Feb.19 that comments made earlier today by a North Korean diplomat at the Geneva Conference on Disarmament have come one week after Pyongyang conducted a third nuclear test.
A number of countries, including the United States, Britain and Germany has condemned the latest test at the meeting, hastily urging that North Korea abide by U.N. resolutions barring it from testing nuclear weapons or missiles.
South Korea leaders have called the tests a flagrant violation of U.N. resolutions and a threat to the entire international community.
Upon which North Korea's representative declared that "South Korea's erratic behavior would only herald its final destruction."
"As the saying goes, a new-born puppy knows no fear of a tiger. South Korea's erratic behavior would only herald its final destruction," North Korean diplomat Jon Yong Ryong told the meeting.
Javier Gil Catalina, the Spanish Ambassador stated that the comment left him stupefied and appeared to be a breach of international law.
"In the 30 years of my career I've never heard anything like it and it seems to me that we are not speaking about something that is even admissible, we are speaking about a threat of the use of force that is prohibited by Article 2.4 of the United Nations charter," Catalina said.
News of North Korea's "final destruction" comments have fueled massive conversations across the social networks including Twitter with users tweeting their concern of a possible nuclear war.
