According to reports on Feb. 16, 2013, the religious experts are predicting that the next Pope could belong to either Asia or Africa or Latin America.

The next leader is expected to continue Benedict’s conservatism, since the College of Cardinals was appointed by Benedict himself.

According to Britain's largest bookmaker, William Hill odds of 3/1 are set against Nigerian Cardinal Francis Arinze, 7/2 for Canadian Cardinal Marc Ouellet and Ghanian Cardinal Peter Turkson.

According to Irish bookmaker Paddy Power, the same three people are front runners, but he thinks Ouellet is the favorite.

Britain's bookmaker Ladbrokes had Turkson as the leading contender. Other names include Cardinal Angelo Scola (Milan's archbishop), Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn (Vienna's archbishop) and Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga of Honduras.

The 85-year-old Pope Benedict XVI took the decision of stepping down from Roman Catholic Church as he felt he was not suitable to the role as his age was not helping him.
