The Galaxy S4 release date rumors have recently heated up online, but now it appears an official date has been confirmed. Today at an event in New York, the Samsung company confirmed their new smartphone, the Galaxy S IV, would be arriving in April of this year.
According to a report from Gotta Be Mobile on March 14, an announcement was made on stage earlier today at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was shown off and it was noted that the release date would hit sometime next month, with the "roll out specifically starting at the end of April." However, the United States may not see the device arrive until May or June of this year.
Among the specs and features this new smartphone will include are a 5-inch 1080P display, quad-core processor and 13MP camera. Also, the phone will look very similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S3 and will have a 2,600 mAH removable battery.
As of this report, Samsung has yet to confirm the names of any of the carriers that the new smartphone will be available with. However, Samsung said their new device will be available on a total of 327 carriers in 55 countries around the world. Three UK, Ting, and EE in the UK have all been mentioned as rumored carriers so far. Most tech customers expect the phone will be available for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless services.
