The iPhone video sharing application Givit, from the folks who brought you the Flip camera and the video sharing technology behind it, are introducing a series of updates at South by Southwest that will put it in diret competition with the most popular and well known Vine app. Unlike Vine, Givit is going directly after musicians and similar artists as a direct way to reach out and interact with their fans.
The highlights of the new features include:
- Most Requested by Users – The Givit Social Experience – Users can now follow each-other, share socially and view trending content, while retaining options for private sharing and publication to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
- Refined and improved user interface – Givit’s revamped layout makes it easier than ever to create powerful videos and share them within the app’s new social community.
- Featured Exceptional Content – Givit’s growing community of artists, musicians and talented creators are now contributing to the app’s new featured content feed, a selection of the very best videos shared on Givit in a “What’s Hot!” List
“Givit empowers artists to supercharge their fan bases with the power of video,” said Greg Kostello, CEO and Founder of Givit. “Anyone can now create an amazing music video or reimagine their favorite moments right from their iPhone, adding new clips, sound or transitions and share socially however they choose.”
Givit also offers a private sharing options, easy to use controls and the ability to tweak and perfect video before sharing to the world - in any length or size. The app is making a solid point of being not only as user friendly as possible, but also to create an experience for the user that provides all the video editing options one might need in a mobile format.
For SXSW, Givit has sponsored music showcase events with PledgeMusic, Sideways Media and also sponsored Leticia Wolf to attend and perform at PledgeMusic’s SXSW showcase. Wolf competed with other artists to win this chance to perform. Her winning video can be seen here. Givit CEO & Founder Greg Kostello will be hosting a walkthrough at luxury complex at 301 E. 4th St., Unit #301, right across from the SXSW headquarters at 4th and Brazos.
