A Kindle Fire price cut has arrived via the Amazon.com website for the 8.9-inch versions of their HD tablets. Both the Wi-Fi enabled and 4G LTE editions of their larger tablets have had prices slashed for the latest deal with the prices looking like they will stay permanent for the near future.
According to a report from WebProNews on March 13, the 16GB Kindle Fire HD 8.9" tablet will now sell for $269, with the 32GB version at $300. Meanwhile, the 4G LTE 16GB model will sell for $400, while the 64GB 4G LTE model will be $500. These price cuts arrive just as the tablet has been launched in select European countries and Japan.

With the Amazon Kindle Fire HD tablets, the company has been able to undercut the competitors, namely the Google Nexus and Apple iPad tablets. The key to their strategy has been making more money through sales of multimedia content on the devices such as Kindle ebooks, apps or games, and digital music or movies. The Kindle Fire HD 7-inch tablet remains priced at $199 for the 16GB version and $249 for the 32GB version, with the standard Kindle Fire still selling for $159.
