According to reports on March 29, 2013, a unidentified person was thrown out of a flying Zodiac 601 plane at the Collegedale Municipal Airport in Tennessee.
The incident happened when the person was taking flying lessons. The pilot and the instructor were flying the plane at around 2500 feet when the canopy of the Zodiac 601 came off. The seat belt of the person was not fastened at that time and he was blown out of the plane.
The Police are still searching for the missing person's body around the area and the authorities believe the person might not have survived.
After the incident, the instructor landed the Zodiac 601 plane safely at the airport.
At this time the name of the instructor and trainee were not released by the Police.
A official of the Collegedale Municipal Airport, Lowell Sterchi said that the trainee was having his mobile phone and the instructor’s as well with him when flew out of the plane.
The authorities are working to track the GPS signals of one of the cell phones.
The Zodiac 601 plane is particularly used for leisure flights and training purposes.
