The 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain was attended by more than 72,000 people this year, according to MWC. Mobile World Congress is considered the world’s foremost authority show and event when it comes to mobile technology and related mobile innovation.
The 2013 MWC event was highlighted by a wealth of learning and networking opportunities; product showcases and announcements; inspiration and innovation, including an exciting lineup of inspiring speakers from mobile operators and consumer brands.
The MWC 2013 show was also well attended by the leading industries and organizations in the mobile market arena in which the mobile technology plays a big part in innovation including those in the sectors of education, entertainment, health and advertising.
Meanwhile, some of the best technologies showcased in this year’s MWC event were innovations dedicated for Near-Field Communications (NFC), in-car audio streams, biometric security, portable power, machine-to-machine communications, protective screen protectors for smartphones and tablets, solar-powered displays for mobile devices and connected living concepts.
In addition, new mobile operating systems for smartphones and tablets such as Jolla, Ubuntu, Sailfish and Mozilla Firefox OS were also introduced in the event.
