A new computer tip every day for a year
Tomorrow’s tip
Day 90 / 365
Cutting, copying and pasting in Windows Explorer is very similar to those operations in a text editing program. Select a file or folder or multiple files or folders, then cut, copy or paste them to a new location. Items cut and copied are placed on the clipboard just like text or images in other programs.
Open a Windows Explorer window by hitting WINDOWS+E. Then try cutting, copying and pasting a file or files. Be very careful however; if you move a file that Windows or another program depends on you may cause problems. Create a text file that you can use to experiment with before trying this.
You can undo actions in Windows Explorer just like you can in an editor or other programs. To learn how to undo a Windows Explorer action see yesterday's tip .
Come back soon for another tip in this 365-tip series.
