When copying or moving files in Windows Explorer , two Windows Explorer windows can be open. Select the source location in one window (the folder you want to move the files from ), the destination location in the second window (the folder you want to move the files to ) and copy or move the files by dragging them from one window to the other.
Simply select one or more files or folders in one window. When you drag and drop you will either copy or move the files from the one location to the other.
Be careful, though. If you want to copy you may have to hold the CTRL key down. In Windows XP you will see a small '+' in a box under the mouse pointer. In Windows 7 the mouse pointer will have the word 'copy' or 'move' under it.
Try it out to learn how this works. Be careful, though. Don't copy or move a file that you're not familiar with. Create a text file and use it to try these tips.
