Keyboard shortcut: CTRL+F opens the find (or search) window in most programs. You can also click Edit | Find in most programs. Type what you are searching for in the window and hit ENTER.
In Internet Explorer and other browsers you can either search the internet or search on the current page. CTRL+F searches the current web page. Hit CTRL+F and type what you are looking for on the web page you are on. Most browsers highlight the text you are searching for and you can hit ENTER to go to each instance.
To search the entire internet type your search in the address bar (in newer browsers). If you aren't sure where to type your search hit CTRL+E. This shortcut will place your cursor in the correct field to enter a search phrase. After you type your search phrase hit ENTER.
Hit F3 in many programs to go to the next search item. Hit SHIFT+F3 to go to the previous search item.
Hit SHIFT+F4 in Word to go to the next search item. F3 doesn't work in Word for searching.
