It was reported on March 27, 2013, that 'The Simpsons' producer Don Payne died Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles.
The 48-year-old Payne was battling bone cancer. The news of his death was announced by his friend and writing partner John Frink.
His memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
Payne is survived by his wife Julie and their two sons, Nathaniel and Joshua and a daughter Lila.
Payne won four Emmys for the work on The Simpsons and also won the Writers Guild of America's Paul Selvin Award in 2005 for his won on the "Fraudcast News" episode.
Payne was also well know for screenwriting of the 2011 blockbuster "Thor", "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer".
The two episodes of 'The Simpsons' that Payne produced before he died will be aired during the show’s next season.
