The Bikram Choudhury sex scandal revealed on March 27, 2013, in the Inquisitr highlighted a shocking turn that Yoga industry has recently taken.
Choudhury, the founder of Bikram Yoga has been alleged of sexual harassment and discrimination by one of his previous students.
It has been reported that the instructor made undesirable advances towards a woman in a time period of four years beginning from 2005.
Sarah Baughn claims that the 67-year-old instructor said that they knew each other in the past life. The Yoga icon gave the woman a Rolex watch and continued his advances.
Baughn quoted Bikram who said “I need someone to spend time with me. To give me massages. To talk to me. To love me. To have sex with me. I need someone to take care of me so I don’t die.”
She also stated that Choudhury would sometimes whisper unfitting remarks in her ear.
The moment she told him that she wasn’t interested in sexual contact, his behavior changed. He started humiliating her in front of other students.
Baughn filed a complaint in the court stating that Bikram “pinned her against the door, and sexually assaulted her by kissing her neck, chest, and face"
This is not the very first time that the Yoga icon has been involved in a sex scandal. In 2010, Pandhora Williams also filed a case against him after he made some offensive remarks about women during a retreat.
Bikram Chowdhury is estimated to be worth around £4.6 million.
