Anonymous tells Westboro Baptist Church "expect us" after the Christian hate group announces plans to picket the funerals of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Only hours after the April 15 terrorist attack that killed three and injured at least 176 others at the 2013 Boston Marathon, the Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to picket the funerals of the victims of the terrorist attack. The announcement came via Twitter .
BREAKING: Westboro Baptist Church to picket funerals of those dead by Boston Bombs! GOD SENT THE BOMBS IN FURY OVER FAG MARRIAGE! #PraiseGod.
As to be expected, the Westboro Baptist Church claims God sent the terrorist attack to punish the U.S. in general, and Boston in particular, for supporting marriage equality and justice for the gay and lesbian community.
In solidarity with the victims of the tragic attack, Anonymous ( @YourAnonNews ) sent out a tweet indicating that if the Westboro Baptist Church picketed the funerals of the Boston Marathon Bombing, they would answer to the collective:
If #WBC protests the Boston funerals, they will have to expect us.
Indeed, today, Tuesday, April 16, Anonymous reports via Twitter that hacktivists have disabled a website belonging to the Westboro Baptist Church:
http://godhatesfags.com <--- TANGODOWN!
Preaching a hate filled gospel so obnoxious most Christians reject their teaching, the Westboro Baptist Church is an anti-gay Christian fundamentalist church notorious for its "God Hates Fags" signs and the picketing of soldiers’ funerals.
Anonymous has a well established history of challenging the hate group, and defending those who can no longer defend themselves. Previously, Anonymous punished the Westboro Baptist Church for threatening to picket the funerals of those lost in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
