The zombies made him do it, according to a California man who has been accused of stealing a semi truck and crashing it, reports the Epoch Times on April 10.
19-year-old Jeremiah Hartline has been accused of stealing a semi-truck that was carrying a full load of strawberries over the weekend. Hartline crashed the big truck, flipping it over, and told the police that he was trying to escape the zombies chasing him when he crashed the big rig.
During his alleged escape attempt from the zombies Hartline hit several vehicles on the highway injuring seven people.
Nathan Baer the arresting officer of the California Highway Patrol stated to the local newspaper that Hartline claims that he believed that the crash was caused by zombies that was chasing after him.
“He was arrested at the crash scene and appeared to be in an altered state, claiming he was being chased by zombies ,” Baer said.
The officer described Jeremiah Hartline as a transient, who had been hitchhiking and was picked up by the trucker driver before he stole it.
Hartline is also suspected to have been under the influence of an unknown drug before he started to hallucinate, according to the Union Times.
Hartline was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries before he was sent to French Valley jail.
