Five witnesses at Southeastern Louisiana University are questioning what a glowing object was and its intent after observing it circling several times over the campus, according to April 12, 2013, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network ( MUFON ) witness reporting database.

Three witnesses were walking east across the campus about 8 p.m. on April 7, 2013, when they first noticed a "bright, orange-pink light moving toward them under the cloud cover."

"It was flying above the tree tops and was about the size of a golf ball traveling across the sky heading west," the reporting witness stated. "As we observed the star-craft it suddenly changed course and seemed to be descending just north of us. The unidentified craft was moving slow enough that we had a conversation trying to figure out what it could be."

The object then appeared to change direction and began heading northwest.

"About 30 seconds after the object changed course, the bright glowing light went out, but we could still see the craft for a few seconds and then it disappeared."

About an hour later, the three discovered that there were two additional witnesses to the incident.

"They observed this glowing salmon object, however, their vantage point was better than ours. They saw the craft turn off the bright light after it changed direction to northwest, but they didn't lose sight of it. Apparently the craft began to circle the university and surrounding area with its light off and when it arrived at the location where we first noticed the glowing object, it turned on its salmon colored light again."

By comparing observation notes, the five discovered that the object had actually made three passes across the campus.

"As the light was turned back on it again cruised toward the western sky. After a couple of minutes cruising at a low altitude and speed, it began heading northwest and the craft again turned its light off and disappeared for the second time. Then there was a third pass following the same pattern and then it vanished."

The five witnesses could not figure out what the object was.

"We have no idea what the object was or what the purpose of its flight pattern was. All five witnesses got together to try and figure out what we observed on the evening April 7, 2013, but we are at a loss as to what the identity of the craft was or what its purposed flight was doing above our heads. Any information on the mysterious object would be greatly appreciated."

No images or videos were included with MUFON Case 46742. The reporting witness indicated that Natalbany was the nearest town, and Southern Louisiana University is just south of that location. Natalbany is a census-designated place in Tangipahoa Parish, LA, population 1,739.
