Some of the most prominent names in mobile, payments, and wireless technology are inbound to New Orleans for the start of the 2013 Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Annual Meeting & Expo.
The two-day event, which starts Tuesday, is regarded by many as the premier business and networking event of the year for the payments industry.
The ETA says that 200 exhibitors and more than 3000 top industry executives will attend and participate in the event. Several major announcements are also expected.
According to the officials behind this year's conference, the 2013 expo will be the biggest event in ETA’s history.
Michael Abbott, CEO of Isis - the mobile operator joint venture forged by Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, and T-Mobile USA - is one of the event's biggest keynote speakers this week.
On Friday, North American Bancard - an industry leader in credit card processing - confirmed that its CEO, Marc Gardner, will be a featured speaker on two separate panel sessions during the conference.
As of April 2013, North American Bancard processes more than $13 billion in electronic transactions annually for approximately 230,000 merchants.
