Blood drenched the sidewalk of the Boston Marathon’s finishing line when a bomb exploded, reports the ABC News on April 16, 2013.

Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media got flooded with the horrifying images of the blown out windows and onlookers hurrying to help several people who had lost limbs and suffered other severe injuries.

One of the photos that went viral included a mysterious man on the roof of a building near the finishing line.

College student Dan Lampariello had been taking snapshots along the race sidelines when he was able to capture the moment of the explosion of one of the bombs.

Lamperiello told the ABC News on Monday that he was about 200 feet away from the finish line.

He was actually standing right in front of the Mandarin Hotel. His aunt was running in the marathon.

They were there to cheer her up. Quoting him, the ABC news mentioned, “We thought maybe it was fireworks at first, but when we saw the second explosion we definitely knew that something was wrong.”

His picture with the man on the roof has created debate on Twitter whether that man was involved in the explosions.
