Teaching profession has been called a noble profession. A former math teacher Courtney Louise Jarrell from Utah has put blemish on this profession by raping a student, reports Huffingtonpost on April 23, 2013.
The 22-year-old sophomore girls' basketball coach at Riverton High School in Utah was accused of sexual abuse and rape on Friday in 3rd District Court.
According to Jordan School District spokeswoman Sandy Riesgraf, Jarrell resigned from the school Friday. The school authorities had sent her on administrative leave a month ago when her misconduct was reported for the first time.
Jarrell has been charged of forcefully making sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl from the school in February and March, stated the court documents. This took place at Jarrell’s house.
She has been sentenced for five years imprisonment. However, Jarrell has been asked to appear in court on May 16.
Do you think the punishment given to Jarrell would serve her right?
