The killing of Leila Fowler's had left an impact on the entire Valley Springs, southeast of Sacramento. The police were on the manhunt.
Investigations proved that the brother of Fowler was at home at that time. He had informed the police about the intruder who broke into their home and killed his sister when his parents were away.
After a few days, when the boy came along with his parents at a vigil for his sister, speculation arose that it could be the boy who did it.
His mother said to the Sacramento television station named KOVR that her 12-year-old boy could never hurt his sister.
