Someone might want to get in touch with Acer's PR department and let them know that both Samsung and Microsoft have already put out what can be considered ultrabook convertibles. Still, Samsung announced the Aspire P3 this morning, claiming it to be the first ultrabook convertible tablet.
Acer calls the P3 the perfect device for consumption and creation. It has an 11.6-inch HD display, weighs 3.06 pounds, and is about 3/4 of an inch thick. Acer says the P3 will have more than six hours of battery life, fast boot with resume times, as well as HDMI and USB 3.0 ports.
Acer may be onto something here. Consumers have complained about the battery life on both the Samsung and Microsoft convertibles. If Samsung can combine an excellent screen with powerful performance and battery life, they just may win the Windows 8 tablet market. The Aspire P3 is available now for only $799 -- that's a great price for a tablet running a full version of Windows 8.
