The USA Today reported on May 16, 2013, that Candice Glover has won the “American Idol” Season 12 crown. Kree Harrison gave a tough competition to the 23-year-old Glover.


The judges gave a standing ovation and were seen in tears overwhelmed with Glover’s vocal performance.


At a point, the “American Idol” judge Mariah Carey threw a glitter bomb on the contestant.


The finale of the show began with a performance by Top 10 contestants singing The Wanted's "Glad You Came".


Janelle Arthur performed on the stage with The Band Perry while the Top 5 "Idol" boys sang a pastiche with surprise guest Frankie Valli.


Mariah Carey stepped upon the stage to sing a potpourri of hits that also included her current single "Beautiful."


The fourth runner-up Amber Holcomb was joined by Emeli Sande to sing her hit "Next To Me".


Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson also appeared in the “American Idol” for a performance with Candice Glover. She sang "Inseparable" with her.


Angie Miller was seen singing "Titanium" with Adam Lambert. She performed a surprise duet with Jessie J later.


Among the exceptional guests was Jennifer Lopez who gave a special performance with Pitbull. The Top 5 “Idol” women also performed with Aretha Franklin via satellite.
