The NDTV reported on May 20, 2013, that a deadly tornado of tremendous power ripped through Oklahoma City, killing at least 91 and injuring more than 145 people, 70 of them children.


Atleast 30 children are feared dead. The death toll is expected to rise according to hospital sources.


The tornado also teared in the flattening neighborhoods with winds up to 200 mph.


Many children are reportedly missing after the tornado directly hit two elementary schools. Seven children drowned in a pool of water at Plaza Towers Elementary School.


Dr. Brooke Cayot of the Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, said that about 58 patients had come in at around 9:00 p.m. And another 85 injured were being treated at Oklahoma University Medical Center.


According to Keli Pirtle, a spokeswoman of the National Weather Service in Okla, the tornado arrived at 2:56 p.m., 16 minutes after the first warning, and traveled for 20 miles.


A injured victim said: “My neighborhood is gone. It’s flattened. Demolished. The street is gone. The next block over, it’s in pieces.”
