Talk about buying your favorite tech gadget online: Imagine watching a video like the one unveiling all the features of the new BMW i3 electric car, and then being able to pop on over to BMW.com and buy one online, having it delivered right to your driveway, estimated to carry a $50,000 price tag in the United States -- which is scheduled to be unveiled on the web on July 29, 2013, according to Reuters .

That's the vision of BMW Germany Sales Director Roland Krüger, who wants customers to be able to buy not only the i3 model online, but all other BMW models as well. In the future, BMW's focus will focus on people wanting to buy cars on the Internet, both the i3 electric version -- and all other models to sell to customers at home.

"We can well imagine that selling on the Internet for all models is used to supplement," reports the translated from German to English version of what Krüger told Wirtschafts Woche .

In an article titled " BMW is on auto sales on the Internet : In the future, BMW focused more on buying cars on the internet. Head of Sales Roland Kruger wants to adapt to the expectations and needs of customers and now use the additional sales on the World Wide Web " Krüger says after the online BMW purchase, "The seller will then also come to customers' homes."

The thusly named "Mobile Sales Force" has previously been prepared, says Krüger, who told the magazine that BMW understands that the expectations and needs of customers change, and that they want to take that factor into account.

Internet sales instead of Frankfurt Auto House?

Will the shop.bmwgroup.com website soon carry cars in their listing of inventory along with apparel, accessories and other BMW products such as messenger bags and kids fare like the BMW Baby Racer II M3?

Perhaps the BMW i3 page of the international BMW i Website will provide more details soon.

Either way, BMW dealers are not happy about the new Internet marketing and sales plan to give customers the ability to buy the cars directly online in direct competition with BMW dealers.

"We have BMW unequivocally said [sic] that direct sales channels must be rejected by us," said Werner Entenmann, President of BMW Dealers Association, according to Wirtschafts Woche, which quotes an influential BMW merchant dealer in the article titled " BMW wants to sell all the cars via the Internet " by Martin Seiwert, Jürgen Rees and Ulrike Duhm.

Because of the new "Future Retail" sales strategy of online car sales, there are no doubt plenty of online marketers such as this Internet Deals Examiner who have set up Google Alerts and fervently searched for the BMW referral affiliate program through Commission Junction and BMW's own website and LinkShare to determine if the luxury auto dealer will offer a percentage of sales through specialized links.
