Those Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 release date rumors keep circulating on the internet as consumers await the arrival of the latest smartphones on the market. Current speculation has both of the new gadgets arriving in Sept. of 2013, due to recent "sales" on the current models, such as the Apple iPhone 5 phone, from certain retailers.
A July 26 report from Cult of Mac suggests a strong rumor that the iPhone 5s is set to be released on Sept. 6 of this year. The article also speculates that another device will be released on the same date, which seems to be the "low-cost iPhone" that has been talked about for a while now. Cult of Mac says they can't vouch for the info, but cites a German blog iFun as bringing forth these rumors, which they believe are valid. The loose translation from the blog reads:
The next-generation iPhone will be according to our information on 6 September come on the market. In addition to that day, “two new types of devices” to be available – and thus are not two different color variations or memory meant. This information can reach us from a very credible and serious source.
Meanwhile, a Christian Post report from July 21 suggested that Apple has informed retailers they should expect the iPhone 6 launch (or introduction at least) to happen within a month. CP is pegging the iPhone 6 release date for Sept. 27, which is two months away. The Walmart retail store has also been causing some of the latest iPhone 5S rumors as they will be offering a fire sale on the current iPhone 5 for $129, and the iPhone 4S for just $129.
The other notion that is supercharging some release date rumors is the Apple iOS 7 mobile operating system which was announced not long ago. There's anticipation that various mobile devices will get this in the fall of 2013, meaning there will be a few new Apple devices on the market that also will be using the updated OS. Current devices such as the iPhone 5, iPad Mini and some of the more recent generation iPads will also benefit from the update, but many are expecting the iOS to be released in conjunction with at least a new iPhone, iPad or iPad Mini.
Back in 2011, iOS 6 was first introduced exactly 100 days ahead of the newest iPhone model in 2011, so some believe Apple could follow suit this year and do something similar. Right now, the ball is really in Apple's court to announce the official date so consumers know when they can expect to get the newest iPhone device in their hands.
