iPhone fingerprint technology coming soon, according to a report on July 31, 2013 at Forbes.com. The article says a London programmer, Hamza Sood, has discovered code in "a BiometricKitUI folder within the AccessibilityBundles in the Library directory" of the new iOS 7 which supports "fingerprint recognition in [the] next iPhone's home button."
Another report at 9to5Mac says one source claims the “the user-interface for the fingerprint scanning system has been complete.” Rumors say Apple could be planning to use the fingerprint recognition technology, which they acquired from AuthenTec, for the 7th generation iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 .
Rumors of fingerprint technology for the iPhone are nothing new. Many Apple followers expected the iPhone 5 to have this technology, but most analysts believed the newly acquired technology would not be ready in time for the 6th generation model.
