The ABC News reports on July 14, 2013, that a woman was gored during a final bull run in Spain.
A 23-year-old Australian woman participated in the final bull run held on the occasion of annual San Fermin festival in Spain on Sunday. During the event she was stabbed by a bull which left her seriously injured.
She suffered from multiple rib fractures and damage to her right lung. As per doctors at Navarra Hospital, who operated her said she is in "very grave" condition.
Along with her, four other men were also injured with cuts and bruises and were hospitalized but they were not seriously injured.
Spokesman Javier Sesma said, she was slashed by a massive Miura bull which approximately weigh 695 kilograms which is renowned as the largest and fastest bull, as she clung to wooden barriers outside the bullring entrance.
Expert national broadcaster at TVE, Javier Solano, said records showed only two other women had injured by goring in the recent history of fiesta as only men participate in this fest and women participation is very rare.
The festival started on Friday, nevertheless many were injured, report tells that they are recovering faster.
A 19-year-old Spaniard suffered from breathing problem and has now recovered his consciousness and breathing well.
Other 35-year-old American also recovering from "rectal perforation" that affected his abdomen and a kidney.
Though this festival distress many, it has a background which honors the patron saint of this northern city and is also known for its all-night street parties.
