In a press release and through emails dated Aug. 8, Examiner.com announced that they have released Examiner.com 3.0, a fresh redesign for the site. The update showcases a sleek, modern design that is reflective of how much the site has grown in the five years since it's launch, as CEO Ashish Kapur stated in the release.

"It's a design for the modern web that will do a much better job of showcasing all of the remarkable content that is created by our Examiner community," he noted.

On a technical end, the site was redesigned to incorporate a front end built with HTML5 and a more responsive interface. Kapur notes how important it is for the site and contributors for Examiner.com to be able to transition seamlessly from mobile to laptop to desktop.

"A responsive web design provides one site for every screen optimized for interactions common to that screen," said Kapur.

Considering how quickly the site's mobile traffic is growing, having doubled over the last year, the company has made a smart move to facilitate further growth.

And the company isn't done with the makeover either. Kapur says there's more to come in the realm of tags, videos and how and where the best content will surface.

So far, responses to the redesign have been positive on Twitter:
