Late Thursday morning, one of the administrators of a " Facebook Blackout " event was suspended from posting for 12 hours after writing a comment that said a user named "Linda" was seeking attention. Mark Carpenter told Examiner in an exclusive interview that he can log in, but cannot post, reply or "like" posts by other users.

According to Carpenter, the exchange took place Wednesday evening when a user named "Linda" went to the event page to stir trouble.

Carpenter said when a friend posted, "Troll Alert," he responded with the message that got him suspended.

"Yes, Linda. She hasn't nothing to do but come here for attention," he wrote.

Making the situation even worse, Carpenter said he never once directly addressed "Linda."

"I simply replied with the quoted statement in response to my friends 'troll alert' statement," he said. "We never even had a back and forth."

But Carpenter found himself suspended late Thursday morning when he logged into Facebook.

According to the message from Facebook, Carpenter's comment was removed for violating Facebook's community standards, and Carpenter received a 12-hour suspension.

"I have never been banned for content prior to this," he told Examiner.

We reached out to Facebook's Katie Harbath to determine why the comment violated Facebook's standards. Harbath said she would look into the situation, but has not responded with an answer.

Carpenter's event, " Facebook Blackout ," is an event protesting Facebook's "arbitrary and capricious policies targeting conservatives with censoring and suspensions." Organizers are asking participants to temporarily suspend their Facebook account for 24 hours.

When we first covered the event on Sunday , just over 2,500 had signed on. That number has since grown to well over 11,000.

Incidents like these are nothing new.

In March, a Texas man was reportedly punished for comparing a friend to a liberal .

That same month, conservative blogger Diane Sori was banned from Facebook for a post she never made . Worse yet, she had no Internet access at the time she was banned.

The site has been somewhat schizophrenic over posts involving violence, allowing grisly beheading videos in some cases while punishing others who post links that lead to images of beheadings.

Facebook has also torn down pro-veteran pages like the very popular " Uncle Sam's Misguided Children " page, claiming it contained hate speech and nudity, although we were unable to find any content violating those standards. Another page, " Grunts11Bravo " was also targeted by Facebook.

The popular " Senior Airman Brian Kolfage " page was also taken down for a short time on Wednesday with no explanation.

Carpenter says he's not playing the victim card, but is very surprised that such an innocuous comment would warrant a suspension. "Linda" has been banned from the event for causing trouble, Carpenter said.
