Google celebrates birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and special events by changing its logo to reflect the special day. Today Google celebrates the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr's famous "I have a dream" speech with a special logo .


King uses many analogies to make his point that Blacks are still not free, even 100 years after the Emancipation Proclamation . You can See and hear the speech on YouTube.


Some say we have come far in these 50 years, some say we haven't come far enough, and some say we have gone too far. Whether enough has changed or not since that speech 50 years ago, we can all agree that the speech did change things, and that it was a momentous speech. It was a defining moment of the civil rights movement.
