Yahoo! news reported on Aug. 01, 2013, that American pop singer Selena Gomez topped the Billboard 200 chart for the first time with her hit single "Come & Get It," on Wednesday.


According to figures compiled by Nielsen , Gomez's "Stars Dance" album sold 97,000 records in the past week and topped the charts.


Next stood rapper Jay-Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" (previously topped Billboard for two weeks) and Disney Channel's "Teen Beach Movie".


Selena had her major breakthrough when she appeared on Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" at the age of 15.


The 21-year-old singer said in an interview that the whole record was her wanting to explore about being a woman.


She credited her role in the film "Spring Breakers" for making her comfortable with her womanhood.


Her single "Come & Get It," was seductive and made her a major pop icon. The song which has even Beyonce hooked has scored a double-platinum and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


She'll start performing in a 56-city world tour in Vancouver, British Columbia, from Aug. 14.
