Pull out a small 2” x 8” pouch, open the carrying case, and prepare to digitize all your paperwork; anywhere - anytime. Plug it into your laptop or desktop Windows or Mac and you are ready to go, no external power required. All the software and drivers are already loaded into this USB device, so there’s nothing extra to install. From the smallest receipt to a full 8-1/2” x 11” page, the HoverCam Mini 5 is ready to scan your papers in an instant.

Unlike slow, full page scanners that roll over the entire length of the paper, the Mini 5 digitizes them like a digital camera – “click” and it’s done. You can keep scanning as fast as you can lay down a new sheet. Scans can be set to capture your docs as JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, TIFF and PDF. You can also scan a batch of documents, of multiple sizes, into one PDF.

Even more amazing however is the ability to drag and drop your scan right into other applications. As soon as your piece is digitized, merely left click on the image and drag it off the screen. Now you can drop it into PowerPoint, Word or any of the other compatible programs.

The HoverCam Mini 5 scans in multiple resolutions up to 2592 x 1944 pixels. In video mode, it captures video at 15 f.p.s. in 1600 x 1200 and up, while capturing at 30 f.p.s. at 800 x 600 and down. The camera has a 10x mechanical zoom and a 16x digital zoom.

With its USB Video capabilities, this can be used quite nicely for video presentations. It will interact with your computers webcam to allow picture-in-picture. Now the presenter can be in a small window in any corner and the topic of discussion in a large, full-frame window. With one touch of a button, the windows can switch size for added interest.

If you’ve ever wanted to demonstrate something on a computer, you’ve realized the limitations of a webcam, It won’t tilt down far enough to show the keyboard without actually closing the laptop. Now with the HoverCam, you can set it up on either side of the keyboard and have a full keyboard view of what you are doing, while still using the webcam to capture your face.

As a video camera, this has much better depth-of-field than a typical scanner. If you want to take a photo or video of a 3D object, the picture will be much more detailed and useable.

In addition to its great camera abilities, the software also allows annotation during the recording. You can draw circles and boxes on the screen, freehand draw, highlight, type text and draw arrows. Just about any drawing you could do on an electronic whiteboard, you can do with the HoverCam Mini 5. Your next Skype, WebEx or GoToMeeting could be a lot more interesting.
