Today, October 22nd, Apple revealed iTunes Radio hit the 20 Million listening users mark and has amassed over a billion songs streamed since its debut in September of this year. Apples CEO Tim Cook made the update
iTunes Radio , was the long anticipated feature in the update to iOS 7 that many users were gunning for. This was announced at Apple's WWDC presentation in June and launched in September with the release of iOS 7 and the new iTunes. The service was so popular, that five days after launching, Apple announced iTunes Radio user base hit 11 Million
Streaming music is a platform that may already a field crowded. On many devices, you may find the likes of Pandora, iHeartRadio, Rdio as well as Slacker Radio and Tune In Radio installed on various devices.
Just for comparison, Pandora (per the Chicago Tribune), is the current leader in streaming radio with about 72.1 million active users as of August.
