Traveling can be a hassle. Take off your shoes. Take off your belt. Leave that bottle of water behind. Stand in line. Squeeze into the middle seat. Wait for your bags. Stand in line for a taxi. Dang.

With all that can be annoying about travel, let’s talk about a couple things that will add pleasure back into the whole travel experience. There’s a pair of items I discovered in the Magellan’s catalog of travel accessories that I’ll take on every trip from now on…the Cat Nap Transit Pillow and the Men’s Microfiber Travel Robe .

Five Star Comfort no matter where you stay

One of the things I always enjoy about staying at luxurious hotels is the pair of robes awaiting in the closet. After unpacking and grabbing a shower, slipping on a comfortable robe and enjoying a hot cup of coffee is my favorite way to relax.

But if the travel budget doesn’t allow luxurious accommodations, you can be pretty sure you’re not going to find that robe waiting for you at Motel 6.

Now however, I’ve discovered a robe light enough to pack, so no matter where I’m staying, I can still relax in comfort. This microfiber robe actually tucks itself into its own zippered 7” x 7” pocket. The MZ001 travel robe is available in Navy or Castlerock (grey) in sizes M/L or XL/XXL for men. Ladies WZ025 robes come in Wine or Lavendar in sizes S/M or L/XL.

Heavy enough to avoid “see-through” but light enough to take anywhere, these 100% polyester robes can be machine or sink-washed and dry quickly. They come with two pockets and two belt loops. If you enjoy a robe, you’ve got to check these out.

Infinitely adjustable travel pillow

I’ve used a few travel pillows in the past and was never a big fan of most. That changed with my first use of the Cat Nap Transit Pillow from Eagle Creek.

First of all, it’s a generous size. Inflated it’s 12.5” x 16.5” x 5.5”. Deflated it’s only 6” x 8” x1”. It weighs just 8 ounces and is available in two colors – a micro fleece Charcoal and an embossed micro fleece Jade Bali.

The inflation valve is unusually large, yet flat, enabling you to really give it a big huff and a puff to blow it up. Just a couple breathes was all it took for me to get it to a comfortable inflation for a head pillow. When it’s time to deflate, it literally can let out the air in just two seconds.

I recently flew US to Dubai to Africa and back and used this on every leg of the trip. It was fantastic.

The microfiber exterior cover was extremely comfortable to lay against. None of the sweating I experienced before with other vinyl pillows. The cover even comes off for washing.

I also used the pillow as a lumbar support for taking a nap. Sliding the pillow behind my lower back, I was able to slouch down into an almost straight reclining position and yet keep my back supported the entire time. Again, the easy to adjust filling valve makes it a snap to over-inflate and then adjust to just the right inflation to suit your position.

This pillow has earned a permanent place in my travel backpack. Check it out for yourself at Magellan’s .
