Cutts goes on to say that it is not uncommon for up to 30% of website content to be duplicated, as more and more freelancers are quoting and referring to other sources of online information, such as blogs and news sites. However, these similar sites cannot all appear in the search engine results at the same time, and are sometimes “grouped” together and placed at the end of the page rankings.

To quote Marc Landsberg of Socialdeviant , “Social Platforms will consolidate, while new content types explode”. He is predicting that video and vines will begin to have a tighter stronghold in freelancing SEO strategies and in the search engine results of 2014. Just today, the Huffington Post supports Landberg’s predictions by calling YouTube the “second biggest search engine on the planet”. Video is the new frontier. “Vine Videos”, which is a mobile app owned by Twitter, uses mini-videos that are no longer than 6 seconds as a marketing tool. Taking the internet by storm, Vines did not even exist 9 months ago. But now, the Huffington Post regularly lists the “Best Vines of the Week” .
