The latest iPhone 6 rumors indicate that August 2014 could be the latest Apple iPhone release date. Details of new features on the smartphone are still a bit scarce, but an ABC News report indicated that the phone could be released a month earlier than usual. One of the expectations so far is that the new phone will have a larger screen size.

On May 12, CNET.com reported that there are alleged images of the new phone floating around the internet. These photos display a change for where the power button will be as well as “more rounded corners.” The bigger aspect is of course that the phone itself will be bigger. One image shows a frame which is 5.4 inches high by 2.6 inches wide. The current iPhones are 4.87 inches high by 2.3 inches wide.

The new location for the power button in the alleged images will be on the side of the iPhone, rather than at the top of the phone. In addition, the photos indicate less-rounded volume control buttons, rounded corners and a rounded LED. The speculative iPhone photos can be seen at Chinese website Feng.com .

While nothing is official about the new device, the smartest bet is that Apple will indeed bump up their phone size in order to compete with other larger-sized phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S5. The current diagonal display on the iPhones are 4-inches, with expectations that the new screen will be 4.7 or 4.8 inches.

The iPhone 5S and 5C are the latest versions of Apple's mobile device, released in September of last year. The 5S brought new features to the phone including a fingerprint security sensor on the front of the phone and also a more-slim and lighter build. The 5C was released as a cheaper alternative to customers who wanted to buy an iPhone without some of the expensive features or higher-quality build.
