Macphun proves that you do not get what you paid for, but in fact, you get much more than you paid for.
We recently got a hold of three of the Macphun flagship products.;
Intensify Pro Snap Heal Pro Focus 2 Pro
Each app is a great stand alone tool for photographers. However, put them together, and you have a suite that will put certain “high priced” packages to shame. Remaining nameless, they do have a tone familiar to a Latino spice in your grocers spice aisle.
That being said, lets look at how they were tested and evaluated.
We took three pictures, two being portfolio ready and one personal. The portfolio ready pictures were RAW format and the other was a standard .jpeg.
We started with Intensify Pro. The picture was a simple RAW photo with no digital filtering from the camera. In going through the selections, there was the perfect setting that highlighted the colors of the foliage and the blues of the water. The process was simply called “Autumn Morning”. The differences may be subtle, but truly dramatic. The same original picture was also done using the Dramatic B&W2 Filter. In a word, amazing.
We then focused on Snap Heal. It was great at removing things that you don’t want; blemishes, background noise, hand held items, etc. In a recent picture of the author and his daughter, take a look at the before and after. Please comment on the differences. It, like intensify pro, will amaze you. While it would not remove my 35+ pounds I need to loose, To quote Kevin LaRue, VP Of Macphun; “My wife's a graphic designer and so she uses the "liquify" tool to thin me out (mostly for our holiday photos!)”. So it can be done.
Tested last, but certainly not last, was the Focus 2 Pro. It can spot focus any part of any picture. The intensity of the focus and blur is fully changeable by you the user. It produces some very dramatic effects.
